Create Your Own Wall Art: 6 Easy Steps

Learn to paint with abstract art texture techniques | Create upscale large art DIY | 101artists.com

6 easy steps to create your own original artwork (with some professional tips and tricks):

  1. Choose the type of art you want to create. Not just the subject (abstracts, florals, landscapes, etc.), but also the type of art medium (oils, acrylics, watercolors, multi-media, etc.) There are lots of free/paid demos and tutorials on youtube and art sites you can watch to help you decide
  2. Get the tools needed – you can purchase a set of paints, brushes and canvas online or at art/craft shops. Look for special deals and all-inclusive sets (perfect for newbies just getting started).
  3. Buy a set of inexpensive canvas boards and practice! You’ll be SO glad you did vs. jumping into a full canvas painting.
  4. Watch the techniques artists use and then practice them. Don’t be afraid to mess up – you can always paint over and start fresh.
  5. When you are ready to really start painting, get a good class and follow the segments. Be sure to watch the class through at least once (or twice) and then work each segment of your painting as shown.
  6. Problems or areas where you run into trouble? A good art instructor will allow for support and guidance – just message them and see if they offer it before you purchase a course. If you are looking to paint abstracts and contemporary art, check out the courses at https://www.101artists.com.
